  1. An axis is a straight line about which a body or geometric object rotates or may be conceived to rotate.  If it is imaginary, then you cannot see it and it does not physically exist.  However, the object that rotates around it does exist.  The imaginary line from the north pole of the earth , through the earth and to the south pole of the earth is the earth's imaginary axis.

    The earth's equator and prime meridian are not imaginary axes.


  2. I'm gonna assume your talking about the Earth and it's axes. It's the equator and Prime Meridian.
