  1. A d**n nuisance.

  2. Impoverished aristocrat is a "comeuppance"

In Eirinn do ghoideach gach a bhfuil òs na dtuthaig duchaiseach

  3. someone from the rich class who's become poor

(the 'aristocracy' is the rich classy ruling elite people)

(and impoverished means (one who) "became poor")

...this happens sometimes because while the palace kind of has a guarantee of staying wealthy and money fueled,

the nobels scattered about DONT have that guarantee, they are on their own with a title (and often a bit of pretentious property, say a castle, that they have to PAY to upkeep)...and no one's really ADDING any money to their bank account, so keeping up said castle can actually bankrupt them, because they may just not be very good at mangaing the money and property so they partied, while the money dwindled down to nothing...so now you got an Earl who has to go work at McDonalds and the bank took his castle away!

I tell a lot of people your age, Tommi, google it!

google it google it google it!

Because I gave you SOME here, but you can find so much more...

in this case , type in 'the aristocracy'

or try    'the nobles' or nobility'  or 'impoverished nobility" etcetera...keep trying different words that describe what you want.

    I think you'll be A M A Z E D and REALLY pleased at what comes up.

Here's a fresh possibility for your quest, Tom...

--->here's how to acheive your goal in a realistic possibility of a way---> go to college, get an MBA (business degree)-->become a CEO, get very rich from all the stocks they give you as percs, that you re-invested, and made bilions.

NOW buy a castle from an impoverished aristocrat.

And all the way along just keep doing an amzing over-the-top amount of charity work, for kids or something, do some REALLY REALLY exceptional work in life at helping others and striving always to solve social or the country's problems like that.

RESULT---> queen knights you. You're a SIR. You're rich. You have a castle. Everybody likes you. It was satisfying to accomplish all that AND helping the world so much.

  4. You cannot buy a title from the UK. Perhaps,it is possible to buy a title from another country, but, even then, the true aristocrats will know that you did not inherit the title. These people tend to look down on those who buy titles, counting bloodlines as more important than mere money(the older the money, the better).

  5. i dont know about the technical aspects but i do liken it to the love interest of leonardo dicaprio in "titanic". she and her mother were socialites who ((secretly)) lost their fortune, giving them only a title to remain within that status group.

  6. You might well be able to buy his land, but not his title. There are quite a few people with titles who are not at all rich because of the tax system, which forces them to sell off family assets to pay inheritance tax every time the owner of the property dies and passes it on. The owner of the title can't even collect his daily allowance for sitting in the House of Lords any more, as the House of Lords is full of politically appointed life peers. He will therefore have to go out to work or throw his home open to the public -- or both -- to make ends meet.

There have been impoverished aristocrats about for some time and a hundred years ago it was quite fashionable for them to marry rich American heiresses to bring some money into the family coffers. The mother of Sir Winston Churchill was an American.

  7. Yes, you could buy his title & land coz he's skint & probably needs the cash.
