I assume you mean independent bike tour?

It would be a tour you and/or friends arrange and do based on your own routes. You would stay and eat where you want (and arrange ahead of time if necessary, like reservations during the busy season).

This is in contrast to an organized tour where the company take care of all the details and you just ride using the map and to the schedule they provide. Organized tours take some of the worry out of things and allow you to just ride while someone else delivers your gear to wherever you are staying that night, etc. But they can be quite a bit more expensive than an independent tour ... plus they don't allow for much flexibility.

first you plan a route like the underground railroad, or some other route between two points of interest. Then get food, camping equipment ie tent, clothes, blanket, etc. plan how long you will need to get from point A to B. then go. Independent tour.
