Hi Jon D, Years ago wine and beer were often stored in barrels which usually lay on their sides, the Keg stand was a wooden rig that stopped them rolling and made them able to stack. If you think of thick pieces of wood with semi circles cut out of the middle where the barrel could lay you may get some idea of what I am trying to describe. I hope this helps, all the best. Rab

Someone holds you by your feet over the keg while you drink from the keg upside down. Its fun, but sometimes messy. Supposed to get you drunk faster.

A keg stand is when one does a handstand on a keg.  Sometimes they have a beer bong and drink beer from it while doing the keg stand.
