I thought I had a virus so i looked into why my laptop restarted twice in a day and i found out it was a kernal panic. I'm not quite sure what that is so should i be concerned that it happened. When it happened i was downloading multiple item from Acqlite so ive just been downloading less and it hasn't happened since. but i REALLY do not want a virus

  1. Well, if you want to avoid viruses, you should get an antivirus program.  Even on a Mac, youc an get a virus, and even if you don't get one yourself, you will be carrying Windows viruses and giving them to your friends via email, attachments and files you share with them.  This happens all the time when you get into a LAN party.  Your friends though, usually don't suspect you because you're on a Mac.  Fun, isn't it?

Anyway, kernel panic is basically a crash.  OS X is a unix system, and the unix kernel basically crashed.  This could be because it was just maxed out and didn't have any resources, or because you have a virus.  So get yourself some antivirus, update it and run a full scan.
