  1. I think a kiss shot is when the cue ball hits another ball and stops immediately, and a combo is when you hit a ball in using another game ball.

  2. pomfer does seem to give the correct answer, but River 2 Electric Boogaloo answers it correctly as well, and more clearly, I believe.  An example of a combination would be hitting the cue ball into, say, the 3 ball, which would hit the 5 ball, and the 5 would fall in the pocket.  To do a kiss shot, you would shoot the cue into the 3, which would brush off the 5 ball, and the 3 would fall in the pocket.  The 5 ball was used to change the direction that the 3 ball was going.  A kiss shot is often a very effective way of moving your opponent's ball out of a pocket, as you can kiss off of their balls and not just your own.  Depending on what rules you are playing by, however, you may or may not have to call the kiss shot.  In most bar games, you are required to call every ball you are using to pocket yours, but in TAP league, you just have to call the ball you are trying to make, and the pocket where it's going.

  3. I'm not sure of a hard and fast definition. A combination shot though is when you hit the cue ball into an object ball, which then hits a second object ball into a pocket. I would say a kiss shot is similar to a carom where you hit the cue ball into an object ball and that object ball hits another object ball and the first object ball goes in to a pocket. So in a combo, the second object ball goes in, but in a kiss, the first ball goes in. If two balls go in two pockets, it's likely that it's both a kiss and a combo. The ball the cue ball hit goes in off a kiss, the second ball goes in off a combo.

  4. Kiss shots are off the rai

  5. A combo is........

If say the 10 & 11 are inline to the pocket you shoot the 10 into the 11 and make it in the pocket

    A Kiss is..........

if the 11 is off to the side of the pocket you call the 10 in the pocket you shoot the 10 into the 11 at an angle that makes it ( KISS ) off the 11 and go in the pocket

    2 very diffrent shots

  6. A combination is where you hit a ball with the cue ball, it strikes a second ball, and the second ball falls in.

A kiss shot is where you hit a ball with the cue ball, it strikes a second ball but the FIRST ball falls in.

They are good for when you can't actually shoot a ball straight in, but if it skips off another ball it will send it into the pocket.

  7. Kiss shot kicks off the rail, combination is you hit a ball which hits another ball.

  8. Pomfer is right. The other people dont know what they are talking about.

  9. A kiss and a carom shot are pretty much the same. It can be done 2 different ways. You can shoot the cue ball so it glances off of one object ball and then goes on to sink a different object ball. For example , You hit the 1 ball with the cue ball and then the cue ball sinks the 2 ball. Or you can shoot an object ball which then glances off of another object ball and into a pocket. For example, You hit the 1 ball which hits the 2 ball and then the 1 ball goes in. Either way the glancing hit is known as a carom or a kiss. A combo would be like hitting the 1 ball into the 2 ball and the 2 goes in.

  10. A kiss shot is when an object ball, not the one you want to pocket, is used to redirect the object ball you are trying to pocket.  You shoot your object ball at another object ball then it goes into the pocket.

A good example is you have a ball on the rail and you want to pocket the ball in the side pocket on the same rail.  If there is a ball in front of the side pocket you can shoot your object ball into the other ball and it will kiss into the pocket.
