  1. Soy lecitin!

    try it

  2. Ginger root Has been known ro reduce high levels of LDL cholesterol (the "bad" cholesterol) by helping to excrete it from the bloodstream, as well as by preventing the body from absorbing it.

Supplements of ginger root extract are available in powders, capsules, tablets and liquids.

Good quality ( organic) Apple cider Vinegar has also been known to reduce high cholesterol.

  3. Olives :-)

  4. Oatmeal, bananas, grapefruit. Niacin which can be found in vitamins and in many foods, is especially good. You best bet,

raising your heart rate, walk at least one hour a day. Just walk, it will help a great deal.

  5. Probably natural substances!  I don't know much about cholestorol (have been vege for a long time and never had a problem) - I'd just be wary of products like margarine that claim they lower cholestorol, what a load of rubbish.  And do a lot of reading - low fat doesn't mean it's good for you.  In Australia they have a "Heart Foundation" tick on certain foods, but if you look at the ingredients some of these foods are low fat, but so full of other crud it makes you shudder.  Stay away from anything processed and get educated on the additives in the foods you do eat.  Lots of veges and lean meats, cook everything yourself and you should be right.

  6. A diet high in both soluble and insoluble fiber is very good for lowering cholesterol.  Oatmeal as a regular part of your diet is effective.

  7. Oatmeal, extra virgin olive oil,  fruits and vegetables and others lower cholesterol.

  8. oatmeal, cheerios (but in HUGE quantities), anything with good whole fiber...i also like flax oil capsules, which have lots of good omega 3s and 6s but don't make me have fish burps (like the fish oil capsules do).

phytostearols are a naturally occuring substance in a lot of fruits and vegetables said to help, can be easily found in said items, but also in enough quantity to help in pomegranate juice and a new yogurt-shot drink type thing from promise (but the name escapes me as of this moment). right in the grocery store.

by all means, DO try all of these methods first before ever going on a statin! also know, if your levels aren't extremely high, that some people's bodies just make more cholesterol naturally than others, regardless of how good their diet is.

  9. 2 Tablespoons brown rice vinager mixed with water twice a day worked wonders on lowering my cholesterol! Actually lowered it too much!

  10. Listening to Dr Edell yesterday ( radio MD ) he mentioned a recent study that statin drugs lower cholesterol but don't seem to prevent heart attacks , doesn't seem to make sense. I have heard fish oil is supposed to help and boring oatmeal.

  11. My herbal drink is lowered my cholesterol.  It is comprised of 5 power herbs.  The most powerful herb, moringa, is even known to cure cancer.  Search the web for Moringa and you’ll know what I mean.
