  1. A la Carte Menu is one that each dish is priced separately, like you have to pay for you soup or salad or both and you entree and dessert separate.


  2. "a la carte" means you order one dish at a time:  appetizer, main course, dessert and each has its own separate charge on the bill.

    Table d' hote means the restaurant or hotel dining room menu offers 3 or more courses for one price: usually consisting of appetizer, two or three choices of main course and dessert. Beverages are not usually included.

    Prix fixé is a flat cost for an entire meal and usually it is a good bargain but the beverages are also not included.
