  1. A lath catcher is a piece of lumber used on top of a wall that runs parallel to and in between your ceiling joists.  It is nailed to the top of the wall to give the drywallers something to s***w their rock to.  They are also used in corners so you have solid s******g on both sides of the corner.  Hope this helps.


  2. I think laths are the wood strips that you put plaster on,  so maybe if you check out something on plastering it will tell you more.  Hope that helps!
