  1. Calculate the time & distance required to slow from max legal speed to stop:

    t3 = vmax / a3 = (16.667 m/s) / (8 m/s^2) = 2.0833 s

    s3 = 0.5 * a3 * t3^2 = 0.5 * (8 m/s^2) * (2.0833 s)^2 = 17.361 m

  2. Vehicle must come to a complete stand still for a sec or two.

  3. thousand and 1,thousand and 2,thousand and 3,thousand and4

  4. The "legal" definition of STOP is "a complete cessation from vehicular movement"................in the Traffic Code......

    Therefore, you must be absolutely motionless for a couple of seconds, before proceeding...........

    AND you should also STOP  ........"immediately before the stop line, or immediately before any crosswalk,area, whether marked or not......wherever two streets intersect there is understood to be a crosswalk.... or if no sidewalk, then within 10 feet of the closest curbline."

    That's how it all reads here where I live.............so, anything else is a "rolling stop" (for which you would fail a road test). If you stop too soon, you will also get points taken off because you might be obstructing traffic behind you......

  5. a complete stop.tires are not moving.
