  1. Forward line consists of 3 players, Left Winger, Right Winger and a Center.

Defense lines are called pairings -- Left and a Right.

Forwards lines play independant from Defense pairings as most teams have 3 Defense pairing and 4 Forward lines... so you can see it's hard to coordinate.

Some teams have "units" though, (like Russia's international team) when teams play 5 players together like a line... while the rest of the teams rotates.

    Hope this helps.

  2. A group of three forwards Two wings and a center or a Defensive line of two Defense men that play together routinely

  3. In addition to a forward line which is three players, there are 5 lines in hockey:

2 x Goal lines - puck must cross to count a goal and a marker for icing.

2 x Blue lines - mark each teams defensive zone and used to prevent offsides.

1 x Red Line - marks the center of the ice and a marker for icing as well.

  4. a group of skaters that play together. either 3 fowards (two wings and a center) or 2 defensemen

  5. the three forwards that are on the ice

    nice gonchar!
