What is a llife to an aircraft plane ? will it fly 16 years or more ?

Qantas plance that made emergency stop at manila had a history of corrosion. how a hole in the plane and is it because, it is flying more than 16 years ?

As long as the aircraft is properly maintained, it can have a very long life.  Northwest still flies DC-9 aircraft from the 1970s.
