A magazine cut off is a device that alows (1) the shooter to only fire one round at a time without reloading the chamber on a semi automatic shotgun and (2) allowes the shooter to unload the chamber of a semi automatic shotgun without extracting a new shell from the magazine, good for when crossing fences etc.
