Question:

What is a maintenance schedule of a car?

I have a 2007 Dodge Caliber. I bought it in May of 2007.

I have a little over 8000 miles on it.

I had the oil filter/oil changed and the tires rotated at 1,500 miles and again after every 3000 miles.

I have not had anything else done to it.

What, if anything, should be done?

Thank you!!

  1. Believe it or not the answer to that question is not far from your fingertips.  Check your glove compartment for the owner's manual... There should be a section that tells you when to do maintenance and what maintenance to do.  Some basics though:

Change oil and filter    every 3000 miles

    Rotate Tires every 6000 miles

Change Air filter ever 30000 miles

Most other items (spark plugs, wires, transmission fluid, and coolant for example) don't need anything done until 100,000 miles

  2. The guys above have pointed you in the right direction

But don't forget to change the air in the tyres (tires) every 5000 miles too. It gets dirty rubbing against the inside of the tyre (tire) wall as the wheel spins round and actually causes additional friction within the tyre (ok, ok....TIRE) possibly leading to weakening of the rubber.

I find that the big nut behind the steering wheel on my car sometimes needs a little TLC, too.

Oh, and rotate bumper stickers too. This ensures that everyone gets a good laugh.

    ;o)

  3. Make sure your tires are inflated to the correct tire pressure. Over or under inflation can affect you fuel economy. Purchase a tire pressure gauge and use it at every fill up.

  4. that schedule and so much more information is in the glove box. in the owners manual. that will answer all of the question that you have asked to day.
