A mission statement of a corporation is a summary of the company goals, orders, sales, profit and the steps required to measure the progress.  Monthly, quarterly reports, etc.

Mission statement is one or two sentences long which summarizes what a certain company is all about and what they stand by.

Different companies have different goals.

Think of it this way...

-Company name

-Mission Statement: short explanation, summary, or extended title of the business

-Blue Print - detailed description of the business.

The first two posters have given you a pretty good definition of a Mission Statement.

A SWOT analysis is a document that outlines a company's Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. This can be a somewhat lengthy document, and is best put together with input from all areas of an organization, as different department heads will have a different perspective of each.

There are many ways to market a small business on the web.  You can buy banner ads, text links, or use PPC.  However, the best way is to get listed in a bunch of portals. Portals and directories are like phone books, and they often provide a lot of traffic because they tend to rank high on Google.
