What is a mobile phone PUK code?

I have a Nokia 6085 and I was trying to activate a pin code. After I tried 3 times it says "PIN blocked. Enter PUK code:"

Even after I turn it off it still brings the same message. Can someone please help.

try phoning up your carrier and asking for it if you cannot find it in the box or manual

you received the PUK code when buying the SIM card (or the telephone)... try to find the package of your SIM card... should be there :)
