  1. In current modeling, a molecular bond is one in which electrons are shared between two nuclei. They are formed between atoms which do not have large differences in electronegativity (tendency to pull electrons towards them. Elements like Li and Cl have large electronegativity differences and thus ionize. H and C have more similar differences and thus form molecular (covalent) bonds with one another.

  2. In addition: Carbon, having 4 outer electrons and 4 "open spaces" usually shares covalent bonds more than any other atom.

  3. Intra-molecular bonds are normally covalent. they are formed by atoms "wanting" to share electrons to fill up there outer electron shells.
