  1. "Moulting" means shedding or loss of seasonal feathers, fur or carapaces.

  2. what

  3. that is what homer simpson will say if he had a harelip. MOLT!

  4. A molt usually refers to the shedding of a birds feathers and replacement with new feathers.  Although technically it is a molt when a a dog, horse, cow, etc sheds its winter coat of hair and replaces it with a sleek new spring coat of hair. In agriculture it's not called that, but rather it is just called shedding. Same when a snake sheds it's skin.  It is a molt but just called shedding it's skin.  In agriculture, if talking about molting, you usually be talking about chickens, turkeys, or other agriculture birds shedding their old feathers and growing new ones.

  5. in biology, moulting (or molting,[1] also known as shedding or for some species, ecdysis) signifies the manner in which an animal routinely casts off a part of its body (often but not always an outer layer or covering), either at specific times of year, or at specific points in its life-cycle.

Moulting can involve the epidermis (skin), hair or fur, or other external layer. In some species, other body parts may be shed, for example, wings in some insects. Examples include old feathers in birds, old hairs in mammals (especially dogs and other canidae), old skin in reptiles, and the entire exoskeleton in arthropods.
