    Heather, gorse, rough grassland, bare rocks.

    Higher than its surroundings but not mountainous.

    Relatively few people.  

    Windy, wet: beautiful on good days, bleak on bad ones.

    I live on the east edge of Bodmin Moor.


  2. Its a type of highland landscape with low growing vegetation such as heather, on acidic soils. In the UK a few of them have been designated national parks - If you want to see what they look like try googling North York Moors, Exmoor, Dartmoor etc. Or browse the photogalleries at www.nationalparks.gov.uk
