  1. When making a decision, there may well be a moral element.  It's easy to understand if you are planning to steal something.  Do you steal it or don't you?  The moral side of you should be telling you not to do it because it is wrong.  That is the moral element - the part that is based on making a moral judgement - is it good or bad? - is it right or wrong?  These decisions are easy to make.  In real life though there are many decisions where none of the choices seem to be quite right.   All the possible options seem to have some moral difficulty.  What about 'white lies' like telling a dying person that things in their family are OK when they are not.  Is it morally right to tell a lie so that they don't start worrying about it when they have enough the worry about already?  It's not always easy to know what to think.  Discovering what is right and for the best can be hard work. The 'moral element' relates to the best side of a human being.  It helps us to do what is right and proper.
