  1. Both of them are accurate.*

  2. .223 are good and so are 243 and 30.06 and 270 and 308 but for a nice accurate bullet for small animals one the most accurate rounds is a 22 250. They are a super accurate small high powered rifle round. Hollow points and full metal jackets have pretty much the same accuracy but have different impacts. hollow points split open like a mushroom. Full metal jackets are more solid and hold the shape of the bullet more because of the metal shell on the bullet.

  3. on a .223 at short range it will not matter because it can do 3500-4000 feet per second, but when you start going into long range 600-1000 yards a hollow point, being less aerodynamical, will loose accuracy before a fmj would

  4. I personally like the Hornady A max polymer tip FMJ. Works great for accuracy and hunting.

  5. Typically FMJ are more accurate but there are the OTM's that do quite well too. You will need to go to the range and see which bullet, powder, combination, etc works best in your gun. Just because something works really well in a friend's gun doesn't mean it will work as well in yours. Each gun is different and you have to take the time, trouble and expense of seeing what your gun likes the best.

  6. Some target HP's are made that way to give a longer, more aerodynamic profile (higher ballistic coefficient) with the weight retained more rearward in the bullet for long-range target accuracy, without any thought to expansion in terminal ballistics. Other HP's are designed for quick expansion, with aerodynamics taking a back seat. HP's are simply not all the same, so you can't oversimplify with an answer to the question as you asked it. You'll have to do a little research on each bullet you look at, and then you still won't know whether your individual rifle will agree. There are no shortcuts, and you'll have to decide on the purpose of your bullet, choose some that are appropriate to the task, and shoot them to find out.

  7. The  FMJ bullets are more accurate. That's why there prefered by target shooters...

  8.   Accuracy is more determined by bullet weight matching to twist rate than bullet design. Faster twist rates will shoot heavier bullets accurately.
