  1. Chichen Itza- amazing Mayan ruins, on Wednesday nights there is a light and sound show

Xcaret- nature and Mexican culture...stay for the night show

Jungle Tour- individual boats through the Mangrove in the lagoon out to the reef for some great snorkeling

Isla Mujeres- ferry to an all-day "play day." Great food, shopping and an all around good time.

Lay by the pool or hang out at the beach and rest and recuperate.

At the shopping center called La Isla in the hotel zone there are several side walk cafes to watch the sunset.

My friends and family always use one tour company when they come down to visit. They have fair prices and are very helpful. I am attaching the link:

Hope this helps! Have a great vacation.

  2. I recommend you visit the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza. This site was voted in the top 7 man-made wonders of the world. If it is during the summer months of June-September when you are traveling, I recommend you visit the ruins at Tulum instead. These are the only Mayan ruins that are set on cliffs overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The ruins of Chichen Itza will be much hotter, as they are located inland and do not get cooled off by the Caribbean.

If you travel during the summer, I also recommend you do a lot of activities in the water. A swim with dolphins, or the swim with whale sharks which is only available in the summer when they are in the area are excellent options. You should book in advance of  your trip if you plan to do either of these tours because they do sell out. What you want to look for is a reputable company that offers a cancelation, rescheduling policy and one that displays their license number on ther website. Here is a list where you can begin to do your research:

You will notice all the other tours located on the Dolphin Discovery link at the bottom of the page.

Finally, you should not only do your research online but you should consider getting a good travel guide so you can get familiar with what's out there.

  3. Tube down an underground river at Xcaret Park.

    Snuba at Xel-ha.

    Explore the ruins at Coba.

  4. get laid

    get drunk

    enjoy the beach

    the end

  5. You have to go to Chichen Itza, the main Mayan site of the area.

Another site is located in Tulum, right on the beach. It is very small place but interesting because it is right on the beach.

A must, is going to the Xcaret National Park where you can enjoy the nature, swim with dolphins and lots of wonderful activities.  This is a must see place,  just spectacular.

Another place is to go to a nearby cenote.

Cenote is an underground cave where you can go down and snorkel and swim.  This is a must.  Ask your hotel or travel agency about all the cenotes near Cancun, there are so many.

Another must is renting a little boat and go to snorkel or dive in a coral reef near Cancun.

    Best luck

  6. Make the trip to Chichenitza.  You will forget the drinking, tanning and getting laid, but you won't forget the Mayan ruins.  As a bonus, the pictures are much easier to show as you get older, than the ones of you drunk on the beach in the nude!
