  1. there is no typical food in geneva. geneva is a multi cultural city with a huge part of foreign inhabitants due to many international companies and organisations. there is not even ONE typical swiss dish. if you want something a bit exotic for your presentation i suggest "fondue chinoise". don't let you misguide by the word "chinese". this dish is typically served at christmas eve in the german part of switzerland on christmas eve. here the very easy recipe:

-very thin, not to big slices of meat of good quality, raw (originally only beef)

-different cold sauces (béarnaise, tartare, cocktail, hollandaise, etc) whatever you like

    -beef bouillon (sort of broth)

you need a special device, sort of caroussel here you put the sauces on. it can be turned so that everyone can serve themselves with the sauces. in the middle you have a heating source and a device where you can put the pan with the bouillon on it. now you put your raw meat on a long fork, put it i the hot bouillon. dont leave it too long, then take it out, eat it together with the sauces. its very tasty! its served with a green salad, french fries or rice and fresh fruit cut into pieces.

i hope that helps some. email me if you have more questions

  2. Genevois specialities:

RACLETTE (melted cheese usually served with ham and potatoes)

ROSTI (potatoes traditionally cooked – first boiled, then peeled, grated and fried in butter until golden)

variety of FONDUES – fondu bourguignonne (with beef), mushroom or tomato
