  1. It's a mystery exactly why Thutmose III destroyed Hatshepsut's name and image from all sites. The latest evidence is that he waited until late in his reign to do so.

She really didn't do anything wrong, except perhaps to have herself crowned as Pharaoh.

This is interesting, that it was Amenhotep who erased her name:

"Amenhotep II, who became a co-regent of Thutmose III before his death, however, would have had a motive because his position in the royal lineage was not so strong. He is suspected by some as being the defacer during the end of the reign of a very old pharaoh. He is documented, further, as having usurped many of Hatshepsut's accomplishments during his own reign. His reign is marked with attempts to break the royal lineage as well."

  2. Hatshepsut was daughter of  pharaoh Tuthmosis I. She had a few brothers, but they all died young.

Hatshepsut was his only surviving child of "pure" royal blood, but she wouldn't inherit the throne because she was not a  male. Indeed, it went to her half-brother Tuthmosis II. and he  took her as his "great royal wife" to make strong his connection to the throne. (Queens were very important as the King needed a counterpart to for balance and to function properly)

They had  no sons together, although Tuthmosis II did have a son (Tuthmosis III) with a harem girl/other wife.

Tuthmosis II was sickly and fragile. When he died, his son Tuthmosis III inherited the throne as a very young child. Because of that age, Queen Hatshepsut acted as his regent.

After about two years, Hatshepsut declared herself pharaoh.  she was now the king herself.  Hatshepsut  had herself portrayed with a false beard, a male body, and a king's headdress and attire in all statues, paintings, and carvings since the role of Pharaoh was reserved for man and not woman.. but no one REALLY cared since she did a good job as Pharaoh. Some writings even refer to her as a "him". She even dropped the feminine "t"  ending in her name.

Not much is known of the boy's childhood except that he spent his time in Thebes being educated in a royal fashion.

Tuthmosis III was very wise and cunning military leader and later proved to be a very able ruler of Egypt. His reign was opulent and he built may great monuments all over the country, particularly at Karnak. Even his officials had very nice tombs.

Tuthmosis III rightfully became pharaoh after Hatshepsut died in 1483 BC. Since her mummy is only recently found, no one knows yet how she died, but many speculate that Tuthmosis III may have had a part in her death. She was overweight and had really bad teeth. * "She was mummified in an unusual position. Her head bends to the side, and the two legs are crossed below the knees. The mouth is wide open, which suggests that she suffered some kind of trauma at the time of her death"*.:) (that is only known since 2007 when she was finally identified)

He hated her so much for usurping his position that he ordered her monuments destroyed, her statues smashed, and her name and image scratched out wherever it appeared. Ancient Egyptians had a strong belief in the power of images. By destroying her statues and wiping out her name, he was both erasing the memory of her life and  her existence in the afterlife as well.

From his perspective, he probably had a chip on his shoulder and felt a need to prove himself and make himself victorious over her.

  3. He was a child when his father the King died. He was crowned as King, but she removed him from power and crowned herself as Queen.

To convince the people that she was eligible to become Queen the priests came up with an idea that worked, they depicted her mother marrying the supreme god at that time who was Amun Ra. Since she was the daughter of the supreme god( according to them) she was the most eligible person to rule Egypt.

22 years later she disappeared and he became King again.

He gave orders to destroy all her statues and to remove her name from inscription that mention her.
