  1. OK Wrong section to list this question in but here you go anyway.

    Neutralization is:  Decreasing the acidity or alkalinity of a substance by adding alkaline or acidic materials, respectively.

    So an acid plus a base becomes neutral.  A neutralization reaction is one in which an acid loses its acidicness  and a base loses its alkaliness . After neutralization reaction an acid is no more acidic and a base is no more basic. They become neutral like water. (an acid is something like vinegar or lemon juice and a base is something like soap or lye)

    In a neutralization reaction, an acid reacts with a base and two things are formed: pure water, and an ionic salt.

    (An Experiment Hint Hint)

    An example of such a reaction is what happens when you add equal amounts of a strong acid to a strong base.

    Hydrochloric acid, HCl, is a strong acid and sodium hydroxide, NaOH, is a strong base. When you mix the two in equal amounts, pure water (with a pH of 7) and table salt, NaCl are made.

    The reaction is:

    HCl(aq) + NaOH(aq) --> NaCl(aq) + H2O(l)

    The net ionic reaction occurring here, and in most neutralization reactions is:

    H+ + OH- --> H2O

    This neutralization reaction can produce a tremendous amount of heat, and can be quite dangerous!  So be careful!
