  1. Oxygen 3 filters, which are, by the way, great for looking at nebulae even from highly light polluted inner city locations, show stars as green, which has to do with the very narrow frequency band of light given off by the 2nd ionization of Oxygen, and not to the low cost of the filters, which is about $89 for a one and a quarter inch filter, a standard size so that it can s***w on to eyepieces that one puts into their telescope.

Green telescopes are more popular for spotting scopes and binoculars, handy for bird watching or even duck hunting, which is currently environmentally sustainable, partly through the efforts of such organizations as Ducks Unlimited, though there are a few green telescopes that are optimized for night time viewing, available on the market.

There is plenty of old technology that isn't commonly used that could be deployed easily for green uses.  For example, my not-very-high-tech 4 door sedan gets 44 MPG, but could fairly easily get 70 MPG, using off the shelf stuff that is cheap enough that it's purchase could easily pay for itself during the remaining lifetime left to it. And that's what's new about it. See my blog article.
