What is a nice birthday gift for a 30 yr old woman?

One of my colleagues is celebrating her 30th birthday this weekend. I dont know a lot about her though. Just wanted to check if you guys can think of any generic gift that I can present her ??

I think a box of nice chocolates and some beautiful flowers (in a pot that she can either keep in her home or plant) is perfectly acceptable.

Other ideas:  the latest cookbook from the Food Network chefs (any of them are popular), a nice pair of driving gloves (REEEELY soft leather), a cute bowl for her dog
