  1. It's usually used to describe someone cheap or when someone is trying to acquire a large amount of money from you, but in tiny amounts, and when someone annoys people because they are overly obsessive about insignificant matters.

  2. A nickle &  dime person is some one who is cheap and likes to sponge off someone else.  He isn't worth i.e. not worth a dime.  Stay away===stay far away!!!

  3. it means the person is worth 15 cents

  4. When someone is "nickle and diming you to death"... they are hitting you with extra little fees or fines or charges. Usually at the rate of 5 or 10 % (hence knickel and dime)

An example is: a contractor doing work in your home who gave you an estimate of $5000 dollars.  THEN that person starts to tack on "extras"... $50 dollars for extra parts, $400 for preparation work that hadn't been discussed, $300 for removal of debris, $200 for overtime, $150 for more "unexpected" parts, another $250 for paint, etc...

    Hope that helps

  5. a cheap person

  6. they will ask for small amounts of money or small favors to death...nickle and dime ya ta death..

  7. This is the definition of miser or a person who counts every cent. They watch pennies, and are aware of their spending. The other definition is a retail store that has a good price on an item, but will pick up the money in other services that are attached. Example: A refrigerator cost $995.00 regularly but is on sale for $850.00 with installation only. The charge for the installation is where the money is picked up.
