What is a non risky way to paint a gun camo colored?

if you have seen the movie shooter you know that they paint thier guns over with spraypaint and branch leaves to break up the gun outline. it this safe to do? can you tell me how?

    Also, I think the process is called duracoat which may be this process or another option.

    I've seen lots of paint jobs on handguns and rifles on my forums.

  3. As long as you tape off the moving parts of the gun, and the optics, don't plug up any holes with paint, and use proper ventilation while painting, it's "safe".

  6. use camouflage tape. if you don't want to damage the gun than have it professionally done. go to a gun shop and ask if they know where it can be done. in shooter they were using synthetic stocks so it would be easier to do it.  you could remove the action and the barrel before doing it.

    It is like shrink wrap which can be applied by the heat from a hair dryer.
