  1. I building this;

    Working on it now and start cutting the parts out tomorrow. I consider this a one man canoe, though it can hold two people. Some may refer to it as an "Open Kayak" or "Pirogue". This is about wide enough to sit in and carry a small amount of gear. I want it as it will weigh about 35 pounds +/- and be easy to carry in to some good fishing holes.

  2. "One man" canoe is a politically incorrect description.  The National Organization of Women takes umbrage to your sexist remark. In the future, please be more careful?

  3. It is a kayak or Eskimo canoe. Google 'kayak'. Room for one person, very maneuverable and light to paddle. Modern ones' have a neoprene skirt that goes around the paddler's waist and hooks over a rim around the access hole to give it a water-tight finish. This means that capsize is OK as you come up again using the 'Eskimo roll' and that large waves do no swamp the kayak.

    Hope this helps Bigpathome.
