What is a palm pilot?

Question

i have a crazy scheldule and i always forget to hand a paper in or drop something off. very frogetfull. well, someone suggested to me to get a palm pilot to keep track of my life, but i am still in like "what the heck is that" mode to what it is. i know it is a stupid question but i would really apperciate a nice answer
