It is actually a pretty cool gadget!  :)  You use pancake batter to make over-sized donut hole-looking things with filling.

That might have been those little pans that cook round thingies from pancake mix, but this is a PUFF PANCAKE that I've made for many years.  It's easy and yummy, and very versatile..

PUFF PANCAKE

1/4 c. butter

3 eggs

1 c. milk

1/4 c. sugar

1 c. flour

1/4 tsp. salt

Melt butter in 9x13" pan (or cast iron skillet).  Mix eggs and milk together;  add remaining ingredients.  Pour into buttered pan.  Bake at 375 for 20 min.  It will puff up around the edges (alot), but might fall as it cools .....Top with:  powedered sugar & lemon juice .. or .. apple pie filling ... or .. sliced strawberries
