  1. its a bacis synopsis of what happens in the book. take red riding hood for example

red riding hood leaves house to see grandma

wolf see's her and beats her there

wolf dresses up as grandma after eating her

    red riding hood arrives

    wolf attacks her

axe man kills wolf and saves red riding hood

basic outline of waht has happened

  2. ughh you didnt bother ask someone before hand, huh? lol its okay, everyone procrastinates..anywho

a plot outline is basically what it says..an outline of a plot

    kinda like a summary

what type of plot outline? it varies

    here is an example

it should look kinda like this after using the plot outline above:

or, if your teacher wanted you to write it like that, then rewrite it as a summary or something...turn in both...

  3. Basically, stories mimic life.  People tell stories based on their life and imaginations and all those stories have similar plots.

There is normally a villain:  The antagonist of a story.

There is a hero:  The protagonist of the story.  Usually the author :-)

There is a quest:  A problem which must be overcome.

Down to brass tacks, that's about it!

Identify the villain, and why they're the villain.

    Same with the hero.

    Same with the problem.

Sub plots are supporting villains, heroes, and problems.  Not good unless you have to write something long.  Leave them out for something short - Commonly called the "Main Plot".  Check out IMDB.com for some plot summaries and wording.
