I want to buy one for my new xbox 360 becuase someone recommend it to me and said games sound a lit better and sound quality is improved. I dom't seem to understand, i know 1080p enhances game display on the screen (TV) and makes it crisp and sharp, but what does a home theater does to my 360 games or just plain old movies or anything on tv. There just 5 speakers coming from different places. When you hear something in the game the guy or any one elses voice will sound the same regarding home theater. So ehat does it really do to sound i mean it sound the same, it does make it louder but other than that is it worth it spending $200-300 for a decent home theater?

  1. aside from the bass additions there is also multidirectional sound and clarity. if your playing a game with surround sound you will hear say and airplane flying from your left to your right or hear bombs going off behind you not just generic front tv speakers where your sounds all seems like its only in the front. it adds a multidimension to your gaming/movies experience where sight and sound are as close to real as possible.
