  1. It's the movement of the north pole to the south and vice versa. It's a common geological process that shall occur very slowly, it'll take 5000 years to complete the whole process.

And it won't happen in 2012. Please people, be a bit rasional.

  2. north pole is like HEY IM GONNA BE THE SOUTH POLE NOW

    magnetically speaking

  3. Movement of the Earth's core and mantle resulting in the poles switching places. For a short while during this process, there is no magnetic field at all, allowing radiation to enter freely. This happens every few thousand years.

  4. caused by wandering polar axis

  5. the poles of any body of mass (earth, sun) can be reversed because of gravity. meaning, the north pole and south pole on the earth have been switched around many times before. we see it on the sun. the gravitational lines get tangled up more and more as time passes and eventually, it gets so complex that the north and south are reversed-this happens every 11 years on the sun.

  6. when north turns south and vice versa, this is what is "suppose" to happen in 2012 when the planet nibula eclipses between earth and the sun
