What is a poser?

seriously what is a poser? I believe that a poser is someone who trys to label themselves as something they aren't just to look cool.

Anyone have any other views on the word poser??

pretends to be someone there not. this usually happens on myspace or youtube.

Example:

Amanda has a myspace.

Amanda: I want to be Miley Cyrus on Myspace!!

She's not Miley cyrus.

So she makes a myspace then put a new picture of miley for her myspace and for her headline it says

" Miley Cyrus's Official Myspace"

if you go to www.myspace.com and type in miley cyrus youll see like millions of her myspaces. well not hers.

Any one who does not follow his/her own ideas of what he/she likes. Following no one set norm makes you real and following no one set norm makes you poser. Poser is governed not by the clothes, music, or makeup you wear, but rather by the state of your mind and the conformity to your own beliefs.

Posers conform to the beliefs of others.

In my eyes, a poser is someone who try's to be somthing they're not. It's like someone trying to be emo/goth,  trying to dress in all black and listen to loud music, or wear lots of dark makeup. When, in reality, this person is a happy person, someone who wears pink and loves sparkles and hip hop music.

thats an example of someone just trying to be something that they know they're not.
