  1. Depends on the mileage/year/needs

Civic Si's (06+) are a lot quicker than previous Si's and i would call them "pretty fast" but they are in no means fast enough to act like your the **** in town. Happens a lot and im sorry they are not race cars. They are excellent DD and offer the best reliability around probably.

However cars such as a Nisan 350Z/WRX/RX-8 are a lot faster respectibly and still cheaper. Of coarse you are looking at an older year which is why they are cheaper but as long as it has lower miles it's fine. In the end it's up to you. I personally hate Si's because i see so many people around where i live thinking they are hot stuff. However they are not bad cars in the least...just not really all that fast.

  2. used mazdaspeed3 is the best beat out a subaru impreza WRX which is 20000 dollars more  no joke

  3. srt4.

  4. This is no competion!

    E46 BMW m3 or a C5 Corvette.

    no civic's please

  5. Get a foxbody Mustang for under $10,000. Then put the rest of the money into some upgrades.

  6. civic si coupe is a good car super reliable, 197hp, 6 speed tranny, lsd - limited slip differential plus its a blast to drive you can get a 06 or a 07 si coupe for under 20k

  7. the new civic si coupe is a great car in almost every aspect. my only gripe with it is that it is a 4 cylinder FWD car and due to this, it is only "fast" and "sporty" to a certain extent. you will find that within a couple of months you will not be satisfied with the car because it does lack that oomph of a true sports car, and it will eat gas when pushed hard. if i were to have $20k in my pocket to spend on a car, i would def go with a 05+ G35 or 350Z. both of these cars have phenomenal performance characteristics, and will leave you with a grin after every drive. the engine is efficient and sounds amazing. it has great acceleration and i would consider it the only "true" sports car in this price range.

as far as other people's responses... a C5 Corvette and the E46 M3 will run you $40k+ and are extremely expensive to maintain. that guy obviously has no idea what hes talking about... the civic is a great car especially for someone who is just looking for a nice, reliable sporty car. a foxbody mustang will require you to have a great deal of knowledge in the field of mechanics unless you are interested in spending thousands for a shop to do all of the work required to maintain such a car on the road. not a practical option.

this is all relevant to where you live however, if you live somewhere it snows a great deal, i would probably stick with the Si because it will do a lot better in the snow when compared to RWD sports car. i was actually considering the Si before i bought my 350Z and i will probably buy one as a daily driver/winter vehicle. good luck on your car search.
