What is a price for decent car in Budapest, how much is monthly insurance, gas and maintenance cost?

Cheaper than it is in the USA, that's for sure. Gas can be cheap if you get an LPG converted car.

Maintenance costs depends on how bad a driver you are, and whether your mechanic likes you or not.

If you do 20 miles a month your maintenance costs will be high only if you are one of those people that brakes at the very last moment, accelerates constantly just to brake 10 yards down the road, keep your clutch half ingaged at the lighs, lean your foot on the clutch while traveling and a whole load of other things that I can't even imagine but bad drivers do. I have even seen a woman travel everywhere in first gear (highways and everything) since she only knew automatic cars and so her car blew up twice in 2 months from new. She claimed on the warranty twice.

Second time round they sussed her out so they charged for the damage done the first time too. But I am digressing..
