What is a primary diagnosis?

On my personal page on my insurance's website, there is a site that lists your primary diagnoses. What is a primary diagnosis?

Your primary diagnosis is the main problem that you are dealing with medically. A secondary diagnosis is a another problem usually related to the primary diagnosis.  ie...........a primary diagnosis of diabetes with secondary dx of peripheral vascular disease. Another example could be heart failure (primary) with pulmonary hypertension (secondary due to heart failure)
