What is a prolonged drought?

I want to find out what a prolonged drought and seasonal droughts are. I have found out that seasonal droughts are the ones where there is a dry season after the wet season but i cant find out what prolonged droughts are. Does anyone know?

We are entering a cyclical drought, we have dry years from time to time, but we have had several in a row and now we are in a drought. If we continue to have dry winters we will be in a prolonged drought. We were in this same situation 30 years ago, but with another dry year we will have the worst drought in recorded history.
