  1. Contrary to popular belief, your monetary gift has nothing to do with what kind of reception is being thrown: you do not need to "cover your plate". Give what you're comfortable giving and what you can afford to give. You're there as a guest, and you don't have to pay to be there.

  2. Money is always an acceptable gift.  But base it on how well you know the couple and what you can afford.  The dinner has nothing to do with it.  I would say at least $50 and up to $300.

  3. There is no set standard exactly how much.

It totally depends on your relationship, how close you are with the couple. If you are close you can give what U can afford. Like if you're well off right now then U can give as much and if you're not so well off yu can give what u can afford, they will understand.

If you don't know them so well, then U just stick with something like 50$ - 100$ (not per person, U may be couples).

    Good luck!!!

  4. There is no proper amount to give. It's a gift. It doesn't have to have a monetary value. You didn't ask them to invite you to a nice sit down dinner. Enjoy being with your friends, and don't think about owing anything.

  5. At least $50 per person - $100, each if you can afford it.  It costs at least that nowadays for a decent wedding experience.
