What is a digital t.v.? And why do we need to get them by 2009?

A digital TV is a TV that can receive digital broadcast signals. A Digital TV is a TV with a digital Tuner.

You DON'T need a digital TV by 2009, especially if you have already a set-top box from cable or satellite.

By 2009, You can buy a simple set-top box that converts over-the-air (antenna) digital signals to analog, so you can use the existing TV. If you need to buy a box, the goverment will give you a small rebate (up to $40).
