What is a quick or good way to get fast?

I was recently injured at football practice (knee) so I can't run for a while, but anyways I'm not very fast at all. What is the best way to get fast.

  1. Work your hamstrings/glutes more efficiently

    This would involve doing various deadlifts/squat variations/running sprints/running hills


  2. Well, first let your injury heal COMPLETELY. If you don't, it will come back to haunt you later.

    Then, condition yourself. Start a running routine and push yourself to break your own records.
