i need to know what is a quincenetta is it like a sweet 16? in Philippines insted of sweet 16 we do it in 18 but what is a quincenetta?

I believe it is a celebration for a girl turning 16 and becoming a woman.  I think its in the mexican culture but I'm not positive.

a quincenetta a mexican tradition, that the girl celebrates when they turn 15...  they are really big parties kind of like our sweet 16.

its called a quinceneria.

And its for mexicans and its there coming of age

when they become a woman.

And for us thats when we're fifteen.

In California, it's when a teenager announces she is pregnant and will probably be married in 3 years, so it also works as an engagement announcement.
