  1. Props are the guys at either side at the front of a scrum, directly binding against the opposition "front row".  At  international level they would tend to be 105 kg minimum, not overly tall compared with other forwards but powerfully built especially in neck and upper body.

The guys on the left hand side are "loose head", the other side are "tighthead" and have technically different roles when scrummaging.  As a very general rule, the loosehead ones are often the slightly smaller and more mobile of teh two, the tighthead often the real "strongman" of a rugby foward pack.

  2. they are the short square ones at the front

  3. The bulldozers! Strong normally quite fat/big, they arnt normally that tall, compared to the second row.

In amateur rugby they will be the short fat blokes, in proffesional probably average of 6ft, 18 stone, and very strong

  4. They are usually the most robust chaps on the pitch old girl, think "Michelin Man" and you get the picture! they usually have an arm around a hooker, on and off the pitch I hasten to add, filthy blighters (Mind people in glass houses I guess) Their level of depravity is second only to a "flanker" you heard correctly madam! Tip top.

  5. A prop is the cornerstone of the scrum. He needs to be very strong in the upper body and legs. The prop is in the frontrow of the scrum either side of the hooker. They transfer the weight in the scrum from the second-row behind them. In lineouts they usually lift the jumper, and around the the field the try their best to get to the breakdowns and occasionally have some good runs. Greg Homles against ireland a few years ago socred an awesome 50m try.

  6. He must have impecable manners, speak with a cultured accent, take great care with the grooming of his hair, and always be polite.

  7. The "prop" is a type of vibrator that the men use in the communal bath, after the match.

  8. If you listen to commentators like Phil Kearns, Ian Fitzpatrick or Buddha Handy, the less intelligent types play out in the back line with five eights being the classic show pony with no brains. As you move through the forwards, a players intelligence obviously increases until he emerges as a front row forward, with intelligence of an Einstein and the looks and physic of an adonis.

I hope this answers your question (by the way I was not a front rower).

  9. Big guy.. at the front

Not little, like a larl scrum half :P

  10. I thought you were Welsh, you should know that already! Shame on you.

  11. props are the brute force of the forwards. especially the tighthead (no. 3) he need to hold the position of the scrum so the opposition doesn't wheel it. normally they are below 6'1 but not the case if the other prop is taller as well.

  12. a short fat pie eater.
