  1. In internet slang, a "troll" is generally someone who uses a forum like Yahoo Answers to post malicious and inflammatory material aimed at baiting people and generally causing trouble. Trolls are covered in Yahoo's guidelines, I believe.

    It can also mean a poster who posts "joke" questions just to see the reactions they get or answers a question in a joking manner that doesn't address the point. But usually it's the former.

    "Being trolled" I think usually refers to someone who is stalked by a troll. Some trolls will latch on to certain users and follow them around reporting all of their answers and questions which is why it's a good idea to keep your Q and A private and to block people who are obviously not here with good intentions.
