What is a "built-in NTSC CATV tuner?"?

I have a Panasonic DMR-ES15 DVD recorder with an NTSC CATV tuner. What does that mean and can it receive and process over the air HDTV broadcasts? Thanks!

  1. The NTSC CATV tuner allows you to program your dvd recorder like a tv or vcr in the USA....so your can record your programs

    The only way it can process over HDTV or record HD programming is that you must have an HD Digital Box.
