  1. Try the islans of capri...see the blue grotto then take the funicolare to the piazza and enjoy a caffe and people watching  maybe even some famous folks....walk around and see the faraglioni.  if you still have time check out the Monte Solaro Chair lift, grab a drink at Limoncello di Capri and fresh perfum at Carthusia purfumery....Enjoy a fresh catch seafood dinner for two at Faraglioni...(private booths) and finish up at Night Club "Number Two Disco Club"...opens at midnight and is located across from the grand hotel Quisisanna

  2. I have traveled all over italy and I don't think anything beats Venice. Scenic, Enchanting, above all, ROMANTIC.

  3. If you come to Italy in summer I advice you to go to some sea place. The best are in the islands ( Sicilia, Sardegna, little islands) and, in the mainland, in the south : Cilento, Amalfi coast... However you can't miss the so-called Art-towns, Rome and Florence first. You can discover in any region something to see... Italy is very various. Every one of her 20 regions is different from the others...

  4. ☻Rome

    ☻Florence

    ☻Naples

    ☻Isle of Capri

    ☻Venice

  5. You must stay a few days (if not a whole week) in Positano, on the Amalfi Coast. Why? because it is known as the 'Citta Romantica' ... and many people get married or honeymoon here. You must stay at the Albergo San Pietro or Le Sirenuse hotels...both luxurious and ideal for a honeymoon stay. Though there are less expensive and equally gorgeous hotels also.  It is the most beautiful and enchanting village on the entire Amalfi coast .... How do I know? ... because I live here. I am an Australian living in Positano... and I love it. Hence my user name of OzinPos!!! Ciao and All the Best!

  6. Cinque Terre is an unbelievably beautiful and romantic location. It doesn't show up in as many brochures as Rome, Venice or Florence--but that's because there aren't massive hotels there to finance the tourism.

These photos I took don't really do it justice:

Another less-known but absolutely mind-blowing spot is Ferarra. Between Bologna and Venice on the train, it's a historic medieval city that has more bicycles than Amsterdam. Rent some bikes and pedal around with the locals who congregate in the town center at night to socialize, it's so great.

Congrats on your wedding and honeymoon!

  7. 1.  Vatican

    2.  Venice

    3.  Sorrento/Capri

    4.  Florence

    5.  Lake Como

*****Bring a credit card and Euros

*********Bring a lot of patience to stand in lines

  8. Without a doubt - Florence. It's awesome.

Also, if you travel a little further North, Sarzana is really nice.

  9. Rome and Florence are wonderful cities, and Cortina in North Italy is breathtaking. Also the Italian Riviera is great.

  10. The Blue Grotto - on the ilse of Capri !!

    The Colluseum !

And Venice - wonderful city !

  11. 1.  Florence with day trips to Lucca, Pisa, and Cortona.

    or

    2.  Venice with day trips to Piran, Slovenia, and p**a, Croatia,

    or

    3.  The Italian Lake District including Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, and Lake Lugano

All of the above trips are wonderful.

#1 is the easiest air/train transportation and you will see some of the greatest art and architecture of the western world.  It is what I most recommend if you have never been to Italy before.

#2 --Venice is one of a kind, but it is also the most expensive city in Italy.  Piran and p**a are accessible by boat from Venice, almost straight across the Adriatic. Slovenia and Italy are both on the Euro; Croatia is not, but most places will accept it.

#3 -- the lakes are magnificent and offer a different kind of vacation.

Just pick the one that interests you the most!

Bon Voyage and best wishes to you both for a long and happy life together!

  12. Catholic or not, Vatican City...Sistine chapel...go for either the religious aspect or just the art work.

  13. Rome, Vatican City & Venice will take up all of your ten days available.
