At least I think that is what they are saying. I watch the BBC and they mention that food a lot and I just want to know what it is.

  1. Do you mean a Donner Kebab?

  2. Döner kebab.

It's sliced meat, beef, lamb, chicken, pressed onto a large skewer and weighted. It is then put onto a rotating spit and cooked from the outside. As it cooks the meat is sliced off. This is normally then served in split Turkish bread or flat bread (a bit like a thick pancake) with salad, a chili sauce and/or a yogurt sauce.

In Turkey (and Germany) they also serve it on a plate, with the bread under the meat so that it soaks up the juices and sauce.

If you are offered pork meat, then it's Gyros - same thing, but Greek.

  3. its ROAD KILL all rolled up and served to DRUNKS

  4. It is s**t.

  6. Kebab made of lamb. These are good eats. Serve on a pita bread with yogurt, garlic based tsaziki sauce.

  7. its a donner kebab! An its donner meat (which is lamb and loads of other ****!) with salad and chilli or garlic sauce in a pitta bread. Very tasty if your pissed!

  8. They are surely saying donner kabob. (must be the accent!).

kebab (Turkish döner kebap, literally "turning roast"), is a Turkish dish made of meat cooked on a vertical spit and sliced off to order. The meat may be lamb, mutton, beef, goat, or chicken. Alternative names include kebap, donair, döner, doner or donner. Döner Kebab is the origin of other similar Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes such as shawarma and gyros. A version developed to suit German tastes by Kurdish and Turkish immigrants in Berlin has become one of Germany's most popular fast food dishes,[and Turkish emigrants export German döners back into their home country.

The meat used for making döner kebabs may be lamb, beef, veal or chicken, but rarely pork.

Although I have to say that I have never had the German version of the donner kebab...Gyros is one of my favorite foods!

  9. Never mind the purists who insist that it should be Donner Kebab, Both Greek and Turkish do not translate literally but phonetically into English.  But the general rule is that a Donner should be a minced lamb grilled on a spit rotisserie, sliced and served in a pitta bread with mixed salad with a chili or garlic based sauce.  Typically served with a huge bacterial load that only a huge BAC can counteract.  There is no finer cuisine to complete night of Bacchanalia, except perhaps a Lamb (mystery meat) Phal.

  10. Doner kebab.. silly..

Its a flat piece of bread, with salads such as lettuce, tomato, onions, with "Chicken, beef or lamb" hahahahaha and with your choice of sauce.. garlic, tomato, bbq, hot chili, sweet chili.. etc All wraped up and put in a grill press for a while.. Its good for a drunken night..
