What is a "kenning" and how do you make one?

im writing a "Boast" poem about myself and we have to have two of them and i have no idea how to make one. all i know is that its two words put together that mean something else.

  1. Kenning is another word for circumlocution or the art of using a combination of words to mean something else instead of using the word itself directly . This word is quite uncommon in English and has its root from the word ken which means knowledge.

    An example of kenning is to use the phrase wound - hoe instead of the more simple "sword" or ambulatory assister instead of the word walking stick or extenuating circimstances instead of using the more straightforward word"Broke". To make a kenning, try to understand the meaning of the word you want to transform into a kenning. For example the word "knife". This is something sharp that is used for cutting into two. So you could say "sharp seperator".
